Orientation Phase

So, here i am, on Week 3 of the FIS course in IMU, having to write a full blog on my journey thus far. Here is a picture of how i'm feeling right now.  🙍💢

Day 1: Meeting new faces
Just like everybody else on their first day in a new environment, I was excited and at the same time nervous of what the first day will be like. I WOKE UP 8 TIMES THE NIGHT BEFORE, not even kidding. Perhaps i was just too excited and my mind just couldn't stay put and rest. On that morning, i got ready to go at 7am when the first session starts at 8:45am. Luckily for me, i had the chance to walk with 3 people: 2 girls i know from my hometown and 1 girl who happened to be my housemate. Other than them, i didn't know anyone else in my batch... Entering the door to the first session, i received a massive amount of stares as i was the thorn among the roses. I first suggested them to sit in the front row but i guess they were "back row students". Half way through the session, i figured that i needed more friends, specifically boys. So what i did was i turned my head around and shook hand with 4 people... turns out we instantly clicked and move around as a "gang". Later, after the first briefing, we moved to the registration session. While all of us were talking about ourselves to each other, i noticed a glare coming from beside me. I turned around and saw this boy staring at us and his body language told me that he wanted to befriend us. So, i shook his hand and introduced him to the group. Again, we instantly clicked. The day continued with us moving around the campus as a group. On our last session, everyone in the class were mingled around because we had been separated to different groups. I was then nominated as the group leader of Group 4. After getting to know each other, we decided on a cringey group name: Friends4Ever. After everything was over, me and my "gang" regrouped and decided to YUMCHA at Sri Petaling.
[Let me introduce them as : Billy, DropOut, Oppa, SuperDry, Airplane]
*below are images that carries sentimental value for me and my close friends*

Day 2: Late classes early breakfast
So the next day, we agreed on DimSum for breakfast since our first session only starts at 1:30pm. This dimsum place we chose was the suggestion from an uber uncle we met on the first day. Anyways, today's sessions were abit boring. It was just about stuff like Self Development, CyberRendezvous and MSIG insurance briefing. The only information i brought back from those sessions was that i only cost RM50000(death insurance). When everything was over, at about 5pm, i regrouped Friends4Ever to discuss about what we are going to perform on Finale Night. After an hour, me and my "gang" went out for dinner at Sushi Tsen.

Day 3: Station games
Today, the climax of the day was the station games. Other than that, it was all legit briefing, from library stuff to personality profiling and even to IT stuff. For the station games, we had to change to more sporty and comfortable clothing. Each group had to play a total amount of  8 games. Thanks FIS217 for all the hardwork you've put in into the games :D

Day 4: B O R I N G
Today was all about briefing, briefing and more briefing. To be honest, i slept for an hour... not because it was boring but because i was tired, really really really tired. SO, being the GOOD student that i am, i asked my friend to record the whole session while i was asleep. The only thing i remember clearly on that day was the introduction to e-learning, something i find very useful up to this day.

Day 5: Finale Night
The day they have all been waiting for.. note that i didn't include myself because i wasn't really looking forward to it. However, since i was assigned to be the group leader, i had to be as enthusiastic as possible. So, i called everyone in for a long discussion from 12pm to 3pm. We planned to do a 3 minutes choral speaking ( which i found kinda off theme ) but we anyhow proceeded with it. At 5pm, the moment we were allowed to enter the Lecture Theater 2 for the commencing of Finale Night, i personally was shocked on how formal the decoration looked and how serious everything was. At that moment, i thought to myself... will choral speaking be enough? Luckily enough, when we draw lots, our team was to perform after a 20min break. So, what we did was improvise during break time and created a new plan, which was to sing "Counting Stars" and then only do our choral speaking to make the whole thing more "musical". After everything was over, me and my friends went out at 11pm to Sri Petaling to have some A&W. That's how we ended our week.
